White Knight Rust Guard Cold Gal is suitable on steel, wrought iron and  other ferrous metals.

Ideal for welds and repairing damaged  galvanized iron

1. PREPARATION

AEROSOL:

  • Remove all rust back to bare metal.
  • The surface must be clean, dry and free from dust, dirt, grease, oil, rust scale and other contaminants.
  • DO NOT use with products containing acid such as White Knight Rust Guard Rust Converter or SLS Etch primer.
  • Cover surrounding areas to protect from overspray.
  • Do not use at temperatures below 10°C or above 30°C

BRUSH ON:

  • Remove all rust back to bare metal.
  • The surface must be clean, dry and free from dust, dirt, grease, oil, rust scale and other contaminants.
  • DO NOT use with products containing acid such as White Knight Rust Guard Rust Converter or SLS Etch primer.
  • Do not use at temperatures below 10°C or above 30°C

2. APPLICATION

AEROSOL:

  • Shake can vigorously for 1 minute before use and regularly during use.
  • Hold the can upright approximately 15-20 cm from the surface. Press button firmly and spray with a smooth sweeping motion.
  • Apply a pre-wetting mist coat followed by a full even coat, overlapping each spray pass. To prevent paint sagging, avoid spraying too close to the surface or spraying to heavily. Repeat if necessary.

Do not use when air or surface temperature is below 15°C or above 30°C.

BRUSH ON:

  • Stir thoroughly with a broad flat stirrer in a circular lifting motion for at least 5 minutes before use and continue to stir at regular intervals during application.
  • Thin sparingly only if necessary with White Knight Rust Guard Solvent or mineral turps. Apply 2 coats by brush or roller.

Do not use when air or surface temperature is below 10°C or above 30°C.

3. OVER COATING

Where a topcoat is desired, overcoat Cold Gal with White Knight Rust Guard True Bite then topcoat with White Knight Rust Guard Epoxy Enamel.

4. COVERAGE

  • AEROSOL: Approximately 1.5m² per can
  • BRUSH ON: Approximately 7m² per litre, depending on the nature of the surface.

5. DRYING

  • AEROSOL: Touch dry in 30 minutes. Re-coat after 8 hours.
  • BRUSH ON: Touch dry in 30 minutes. Re-coat after 8 hours.
  • Drying will be slower in cold or humid conditions, in the absence of ventilation or where heavy film builds are applied.

6. CLEAN UP

AEROSOL: To prevent nozzle blocking, after use turn can upside down and press button until only gas escapes. Overspray can be removed while still wet with White Knight Rust Guard Solvent or mineral turps.

BRUSH ON: Clean brushes and equipment with White Knight Rust Guard Solvent or mineral turps immediately after use.

7. SAFETY & FIRST AID

AEROSOL:

KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

  • If swallowed do not induce vomiting. Drink a glass of water and seek medical advice.
  • If in eyes, flush out immediately with water and seek medical advice.
  • Avoid breathing of vapour.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation during use and while drying.
  • If on skin, remove contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly with soap and water. Seek medical advice if irritation persists.

Warning - Misuse by concentrating and inhaling contents can be harmful or fatal.

KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

  • This product is flammable. Keep away from heat and eliminate any source of ignition.

8. CAUTION

AEROSOL:

EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE. KEEP AWAY FROM FLAME AND ELIMINATE ANY SOURCE OF IGNITION. Keep in a cool place and out of sun. Contents under pressure. Do not puncture or incinerate this can, even when empty.

BRUSH ON:

May develop pressure in storage. Open container carefully and wear gloves and eye protection. Do not allow water to contaminate the paint as this will cause build-up of pressure. Adequate ventilation is essential when cutting or welding White Knight Cold Gal due to harmful zinc fumes.

9. ENVIRONMENT

AEROSOL:

  • Residual aerosol paint should be sprayed onto newspaper, allowed to dry and disposed of via domestic waste collections.
  • Empty aerosol cans are recyclable via steel can recycling programs.

BRUSH ON:

  • Do not pour unwanted paint down the drain.
  • Keep unwanted paint in sealed containers for disposal via special chemical waste collections.
  • Empty paint containers should be left open in a well ventilated area to dry out. When dry, recycle steel containers via can recycling programs.
  • Disposal of empty paint containers via domestic recycling programs may differ between local authorities. Check with your local council first.
