Metal Guard is ideal for interior and exterior household items such as furniture, picture frames, toys and bikes. Suitable for use on mild steel, copper, brass, aluminium and galvanised iron.
Preparation

Preparation

The surface must be thoroughly cleaned and free from grease, oil, dirt, rust scale and other contaminants. Sand previously painted or glossy surfaces with 600# wet n dry abrasive paper. Clean and allow to dry before painting. BEFORE SPRAYING Cover all necessary areas to protect from overspray. It is essential to shake the can for at least one minute after mixing ball rattles to ensure product uniformity. Shake can occasionally during use. Do not use when the air or surface temperature is below 15°C or above 30°C or in excessive humidity.
Application Details

Application Details

Spray outside or in a well ventilated area away from fire and heaters. Test spray first on a small inconspicuous area to ensure surface compatibility and finish suitability. Hold the can upright approximately 15-20 cm from the surface. Press button firmly. Spray with a smooth sweeping motion. Apply a pre-wetting mist coat followed by a full even coat. Overlap each spray pass. Repeat if necessary. To prevent paint sagging, avoid spraying too close to the surface or spraying too heavy a coat After Spraying: To clean the nozzle after use and prevent blocking, turn the can upside down and press button until only gas escapes.

Up to 1 - 1.5 square metres per unit depending on the nature of the surface and the amount of overspray.
Drying Times

Drying Times

Touch dry 10 minutes. Re-Coat: After 1 hour. Drying times will be slower in cold or humid conditions, in the absence of ventilation or where heavy film builds are applied
Clean Up

Clean Up

Overspray can be removed while still wet with Rust Guard Solvent or mineral turps. For additional protection after painting, White Knight Clear Guard can be applied over Metal Guard.

HANDY HINT

To remove a child proof cap insert a screwdriver in the cap and lever it up
The horizontal setting is used when spraying up and down and press button until only gas escapes.
To clean nozzle after use and prevent blocking turn the can upside down and press button until only gas escapes.
