White Knight Kitchen & Bathroom Paint is a high performance, low sheen acrylic paint with superior anti-mould protection specifically developed for use in moist or humid situations where mould growth can cause problems. The mould resistant low sheen finish is ideal for walls and ceilings in kitchens, bathrooms and laundries.

Preparation

Preparation

The surface must be clean, dry and free from dust, dirt, grease, oil and other contaminants. Remove all loose and flaking paint. Thoroughly sand glossy or enamel surfaces. Fill nail holes and cracks with appropriate filler and sand smooth. Prepare surface as detailed above. Spot prime bare areas as shown below. Acrylic based paint can be coated directly. When painting over oil based paint first apply one coat of White Knight Strokes All Purpose Oil Based Undercoat. Removal of mould: Use household bleach and water (one part bleach to three parts water) to remove any mould. Stubborn areas will need to be vigorously scrubbed to ensure removal. Leave the solution on the surface for 10 minutes to allow penetration then wash with clean water and allow to dry. Bare plasterboard, Fibro, Cement Render: Prepare surface as detailed above. Apply one coat of Taubmans 3 in 1 or other suitable primer sealer

Application Details

Stir thoroughly with a broad, flat stirrer in a circular lifting motion for at least 5 minutes before use. Apply 2 coats by brush or roller. Do not use when the air or surface temperature is below 10ºC or above 30°C or when the humidity is very high.

Up to 16 sq. metres per litre depending on the nature of the surface
Drying Times

Drying Times

Touch dry in 30 minutes. Recoat after 2 hours. Drying times will be slower in cold or humid conditions, in the absence of ventilation or where heavy film builds are applied.
Clean Up

Clean Up

Clean brushes and equipment with water immediately after use.

 

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: Provide adequate ventilation during use and throughout the drying process. Avoid exposure to condensation and heavy steam within 48 hours of painting. Normal cleaning of the surface can be achieved after 6 days. Use only mild, non abrasive household cleaners. Avoid use of abrasive cleaning products which can damage the low sheen finish.
