Clear Guard is suitable for use on copper, brass, aluminium, alloy and other similar metals. Ideal for light fittings, plaques, door knobs, taps and ornaments.

Preparation

Preparation

The surface must be thoroughly cleaned before applying White Knight Clear Guard. New shiny surfaces must be washed with minerals turps and allowed to dry. On worn surfaces remove all stains and marks with a conventional metal polish. Remove all residues by washing down with White Knight Rust Guard Solvent or mineral turps, allow to dry and remove any smears. Do not handle surface prior to applying White Knight Clear Guard.

BEFORE SPRAYING:Cover all necessary areas to protect from overspray. It is essential to shake the can for at least .one minute after mixing ball rattles to ensure product uniformity. Shake can occasionally during use. Do not use when the air or surface temperature is below 15°C or above 30°C or in excessive humidity.

Brush on :Stir thoroughly before and occasionally during use. Apply two to three coats by brush or roller.

Aerosol: Spray outside or in a well ventilated area away from fire and heaters. Test spray first on a small inconspicuous area to ensure surface compatibility and finish suitability. Hold the can upright approximately 15-20 cm from the surface. Press button firmly. Spray with a smooth sweeping motion. Apply a pre-wetting mist coat followed by a full even coat. Overlap each spray pass. Repeat if necessary. To prevent paint sagging, avoid spraying too close to the surface or spraying too heavy a coat.

Brush On: Up to 14 square metres per litre depending on the nature of the surface.

Aerosol: Up to 1 to 1.5 square metres per unit depending on nature of the surface and the amount of overspray.

Touch dry Brush On and Aerosol: 10 minutes.

Clean Up

Clean Up

Overspray can be removed while still wet with Rust Guard Solvent or mineral turps. Clean equipment and brushes with White Knight Rust Guard Solvent or mineral turps immediately after use

After Spraying

After Spraying

Turn the can upside down and press button until only gas escapes to clean the nozzle and prevent blocking.

Re-Coat

Brush On: After 30 hours Aerosol: After 1 hour. Drying times will be slower in cold or humid conditions, in the absence of ventilation or where heavy film builds are applied.
