A Fresh Face for Spring

Interiors have become as fashion-conscious as clothing, with each season heralding new colours and new looks.  Fortunately, updating a room need not be as expensive as buying a new outfit!  A fresh look for Spring is as simple as a coat of paint – no arduous preparation, no huge expense and no second-rate finish.  Simply check out some of the innovative paint finishes available – especially those that have been developed for the amateur to give first-rate professional results. The tired looking laminate chair in the picture (attached) was given a fresh, clean look with a coat of Laminate Paint by White Knight Paints.  So too was the cube next to it – a coat of crisp white Laminate Paint and then a clever little stencil used to apply a minimal pattern in Squirts jet black spray-on enamel.  The stencil was simply cut from a piece of thin card. The floor meanwhile, was given a complete update with a coat of Ultra Pave water-based paving paint – again, the crisp white look was chosen for this setting but Ultra Pave is available in more than 65 colours and is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.  White Knight’s Laminate Paint requires two coats and dries to a hardwearing, scratch-resistant, satin finish.  It can be tinted to any one of more than a thousand shades, including the best whites, soft neutrals and pretty pastels - it is low odour, scratch resistant and guaranteed to recreate that hard wearing satin finish of laminate.  It is important to follow the step by step procedure for Laminate paint – first cleaning the surface with Tile & Laminate Cleaner, then applying the  Tile & Laminate Primer and then applying the Laminate top coat. Squirts spray can enamel is the perfect medium for small areas of decorative colour.  It features a beautiful palette of 50 colours and each can has an adjustable nozzle that allows the user to apply paint evenly and sparingly whatever the shape of the item to be painted. Squirts gloss enamel is ideal for most clean, dry surfaces and creates a glossy, protective finish for both indoor and outdoor items.  It is touch dry in only ten minutes. Ultra Pave, by White Knight Paints, is an advanced acrylic formulation specifically designed for the concrete slabs of interiors, driveways, garage and shed floors plus concrete pavers (or any concrete surface).  Its unique formulation  withstands the wear and tear of everyday domestic traffic and wheeled vehicles and resists staining from household spills, oil and petrol.  For extremely heavy traffic a final coat of White Knight Paints’ Clear Sealer or Floor Coat Plus can be applied. Ultra Pave is touch dry in only 30 minutes, ready for a second coat after only 2 hours and can take heavy foot traffic in just six hours.
